About me
TL;DR: A mission-driven designer who *might* run away to join the circus.
I'm Roya, a UX/UI designer who grew up in the North East but, amidst all of the 2020 chaos, suddenly find myself in Austin, Texas. While I've been enjoying the city and BBQ, y'all won't find me wearing cowboy boots...yet.
I am passionate about the intersection of human-centered design, social entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies. I believe that design alongside interdisciplinary collaboration has the power to share stories, spread empathy, and foster accessible digital and physical spaces.
Currently, I work as a product designer for Zero Grocery, an online delivery startup focused on making sustainable living more accessible. During the pandemic, I explored more about the technology literacy gap. As a result, I wrote a research paper and created a tech-learning service called Klari, which teaches older adults how to use the tech and apps that UX/UI designs. Super meta.
I believe in designing for dignity and usability. I hope to create products that contribute to an enhanced and more equitable human experience.
